Acorus gramineus 'Variegatus' has a cream-colored stripe on dark-green narrow leaves. It grows up to 12 inches tall and 1-2 feet wide.
Sweet flag is a tough plant that grows well in wet or dry conditions and in full sun or shade. Although it can be used as a bog or water garden plant, it also survives drought conditions.

Maiden Grass is an arching, graceful grass that forms dense clumps of green or variegated foliage. This grass is used in the landscape as a specimen, screen or a nice mass of textured foliage. Also looks great near a pond! Maiden Grass requires a location in the landscape that receives full sun, but will tolerate some shade.
This plant tolerates some drought and occasional wetness. It prefers soil that is well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay with a pH preference of an acidic to slightly alkaline (6.8 - 7.7)
This grass is deer resistant, attracts birds, attracts butterflies, and is terrific used in dry flowered arrangements.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Morning Light'
The Morning Light has leaves that have a narrow band of clear white on the leaf margins, causing them to appear silver from a distance. The foliage grows 4 to 5 feet tall, with flowers 5 to 6 feet tall. The flowers emerge a reddish-bronze color and dry to a fluffy cream.
This grass prefers full sun and will tolerate a somewhat dry soil. |

The most magnificant of the grass-like plants, this variegated giant reed will grow in reasonably fertile, moisture retentive soil but needs permanently moist soil to achieve its full potential. Very rich variegation - white, drooping ribbon leaves with green stripes. Looks stunning when planted with Colocasia 'Black Magic', contrasting superbly in colour, texture and form. If you garden in a harsh climate it is a good idea to over winter this Arundo under cover.
This grass will grow 6-10 feet tall and wide and will do best in sun to part shade.

These tuft-forming plants have leaf blades that are flat. They are grown for their flower clusters (plumes) that appear in summer to fall and can be used in flower arrangements both fresh and dried. Most species are very frost hardy.
These petite grasses grow only 8-10 inches in height and are ideal for rock gardens.
The Little Bunny requires full sun and does not need much water, making it an ideal plant for our climate.

This attractive grass is highlighted by fluffy, buff-colored plumes arching above foliage. It is terrific when used among shrub or backdrop for perennial bed. Dark green tufted blades turn golden russet in fall.
This herbaceous grass requires full sun. It is a moderate grower, mounding to 2 to 3 feet tall and 1 to 2 feet wide.
When Hamlin is grown in containers, they have a distinctly European look.

Create stunning vertical effects with feathery flower spikes that emerge reddish-brown in spring, turn golden to buff in fall. Blooms 2 to 3 weeks earlier than common feather reed grass. Use stalks as cut flowers. This grass prefers full sun. It is fast growing, and has arching foliage to 18 to 24 inches tall and 2-foot wide clumps. The flower stalks may grow to 6 feet.
As with most ornamental grasses, remove old foliage before new leaves emerge. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years in early spring.

The Blood Grass will grow to 18" and prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun, however Imperata tolerates light shade, but avoid winter wet. Remember not to cut down grasses at the end of the season, as their legacy lives on in their winter beauty. |
