This deciduous shrub has delightful apricot-pink blooms that precede the foliage. It is an early flowering shrub with long-lasting blooms. It can be a useful compact hedge. The fruit attracts birds.

This shrub prefers full sun to part shade. It is a moderate grower, 4-5’ tall and 4-5’ wide.

This shrub has dark green foliage on stems that are practically thornless. This quince prefers well-drained soil and performs well in dry situations.

Chaenomeles x supberba 'Texas Scarlet' flowering quince

'Texas Scarlet' is a compact, very low-growing cultivar, and is fairly spreading in habit. It has fewer thorns than most, with profuse tomato-red flowers. This quince has a prolonged flowering habit.

This shrub prefers full sun to part shade.
