Royal White Eastern Redbud – 2008 Plant of Merit
This cultivar is distinguished from the native white-flowered form of eastern red bud by its slightly earlier and more floriferous bloom of larger flowers on a more compact plant. Pea-like white flowers bloom in profusion in spring, followed by flattened seed pods in summer. Heart-shaped green leaves turn yellow in fall. This is an excellent landscape specimen or accent that matures to 15-25 feet tall and wide.
